Who are we....
Saunders & Chorley Funeral Directors are an amalgamation of two long established, local companies, Saunders & Son Funeral Directors of Grange-over-Sands and Chorley Funeral Directors of Dalton in Furness. We remain an independent, family run Funeral Director dedicated to providing a personal and professional service to bereaved families throughout South Cumbria.
Where are we...
In 2025 we refurbished and opened our new home, Abbey Mount Funeral Chapel in Barrow in Furness. The peaceful and calming atmosphere created here ensures a perfect setting to not only make funeral arrangements and visit loved ones, but also to hold the funeral service. Our service chapel offers seating for up to 80 people with ample standing room available to accommodate larger numbers. Free, onsite car parking is available for those attending which again helps ensure services run smoothly.
What we do...
From your first call to us to the funeral service itself and beyond we provide the highest levels of care, support and professionalism to ensure every detail of the funeral service goes just as desired. We will work with you and take instruction to arrange service venues, ministers or celebrants, transportation, floral tributes, newspaper announcements, funeral teas, service sheets and much more.
